It just shows you what a joke our legal system is. They made laws to protect and then they dont really take them seriously. Shows here we are not equal.

Even if it had not ended as tragically as it did. the actions of this individual deserved a FAR more serious penalty based on the violation of civil rights alone. This pathetic "sentence" makes a mockery of the justice system! The message it sends to gay youth, in particular, is chilling - better stay deeply hidden in your closets or else...

living in the NYC area, this tragedy and trial has been well covered by news media...the sentence, I wouldn't even consider it a slap on the wrist and they are looking to appeal the sentence...where is the justice for Tyler?
