My appologies for spelling suicide so wrong

By the way.....MOST of the successful scuicides have never THOUGHT about scuicide, they just did it. What they needed was someone to see something was wrong in their lives. While I applaud and encourage agencies who help troubled youngsters I feel most troubled youngsters suffer in silence. There comes a point when they can take no more. In my job I come across disturbed youngsters all the time. Trying to identify the possible scuicides is not easy. In my line of work one common way for guys to commit scuicide is to take an overdose of heroin. It's quick easy and painless. Most heroin addicts know their own tollerance to heroin and they know just how much to take to end their lives. Heroin scuicides are recorded as death by heroin overdose. Being a gay man and working in such a job with so much heartache is overwhelming at times. Hearing the news that a guy has died by his own hand is bad enough but when it is a guy that was liked is often bewildering and heartbreaking.

My birthday is on the 10th of september. This is the first time I have heard about World Suicide Prevention Day......I fear your message is not getting enough air time. btw I was 55.

hey there toby, i hear you loud and clear...I want to share a story with you and i know how importent this month is. Two years ago i was hurt by someone i loved so much...I was betrayed and i was lied to and the relationship turned violent...by the end of it i wa hurt so bad and i was so beaten down that i became very depressed and i started cutting myself...well as the emotional pain grew and my inner demons took over, i cut myelf so deep i had to call 911 and was rushed to the hospital...after some help and cousiling, i realized that I am a good person and I lneeded to love myself, so as a reminder i wear a wristband that says epic on it so that i can remember why i keep pushing myself to stay alive and do right by myself and my family and friends, so if there isis someone out there that is feeling like I did I am willing to talk and help a fellow friend out there because I was you, love you all Johnny

i would like to make the quick but important point that WSPD may have passed but Sept IS World suicide month with different organisations and charities and events being held to help bring awareness into the public eye such as the The Trevor Project ..http://www.thetrevorproject.org .....being one. even the US Military are involved this month The Army will expand its observance with events occurring during the entire month of September ....The shocking fact that Suicide in the US military has sharply increased this year, hitting a rate of almost one death per day, According to Pentagon officials, 38 soldiers killed themselves in July, making it the worst month for suicides since the Army began releasing figures in 2009......http://www.army.mil/article/87135/Suicide_prevention__Reaching_out_a_sign_of_strength/ .... my thoughts are never far away from all those who have taken or who has been affected by suicide, ... remember guys ... if your emotions are taking over and your in a dark lonely place .. please please reach out for help.. let some one in...Seeking help isn't a sign of weakness it is a sign of strength ..........

Toby...I stand with you and proudly, in my own life, I have been impacted by this very issue. It is deeply personal to me, and I have not shared this with many. The first lover in my life could not cope with his family's disdain for his sexual orientation. He had no where to turn to, he did not even turn to me. So at the age of 15 I lost this person from my life, he was 19 and felt he had no where to go. For all of you that read this, please take the time to remember those as Toby said above. And more importantly to me, make sure that you take the time to listen to those that reach out to you, provide a shoulder for them, and help them to find a place where they can be heard and be helped.
