And I recommend everyone download something to protect their PC's with ... there are some good FREE products out there, like MalwareBytes "Anti-Malware":

and I recommend "AVG Antivirus" if you don't already have an antivirus package :

cas92 and creammaster have it RIGHT. The FBI DID have a public site that had opened a 'hole' in the internet and offered a way to fix and scan to isure it was fixed or not needed. This Justice Department has now CLOSED months ago. Could be related to users that took no action. My information was sent out by my internet provider. 'cas92' I hope this changes your mind from youre lasy pm. Andy

Yes, I received this FBI thing about three weeks ago of weeks ago. They sais I had to Western Union them $200 for a fine, or I would be arrested by Federal Marshalls. There was no way you could delete, reply, or forward the message. I called the local FBI office, and before I could even finish describing what was appearing, The FBI guy said, "It's a scam. Just ignore it, so I rebooted my computer and went about my business.

I had a similar thing only a "Metropolitan Police" version for the UK...at first glance it is scary but on more
careful consideration so obviously fake...would they really swap 100 GBP for the chance to send you to prison for years !!!!! surely no one would be taken in by that? especially as there is nothing seriously
illegal on this site.... I removed it by deleting IE and restoring to an earlier date

No such problems here in the UK

This happened to me a few weeks ago. I got rid of it by forcing the computer to shutdown, restarting in safe mode then restoring the computer to a previous date. Haven't had any problems since.

BTW, the info I provided below has nothing to do with Gayboystube. Fierhorn would have gotten the malware/extortionware from somewhere else, otherwise we'd all have it by now.

*** Fake FBI Moneypak Warning virus is defined as a horrible scam that will lock your computer and ask for money to unlock. It has been quite popular recently and many computer users have been tricked by it. Most people turn to be very terrified when this fake FBI warning scam appeared on their computers saying that they have to pay $200 within the next 72 hours. ***

I agree with Vlad. The FBI had a web site to remove a certain timed virus. All could have it checked and cleared or cleaned. That site has now been shut down and systems checked were added security to disallow it's future entry. Perhaps some didn't do the recommended task or it's just a gimick to sell you a securit product.Good Luck
