My dad just mind fucked me. Went down to ask if I could go over to my friend's house, and, before I said a word, he's like, you and me need to talk, I think. So, I'm thinking, okay, what did I do....hehehe....so we go to his room and he closes the door like he does if there's gonna be a serious butt-chewing. But, he sits down on his couch and I sit down and he's calm and doesn't look pissed, and then he says, "There's something you want to tell me, but you just haven't worked up to it yet, isn't there, Tyler?" I swear my heart stopped and I just sat there. Then, real soft, he says, "Come on, TyTy, you know I'll love you no matter what," and he hasn't called me that since I was a kid and I started crying and finally I tell him I'm gay. And, dad's like, yeah, thought so. !!!!!!!!!! He gives me one of his big hugs and I'm crying AGAIN and then we sat and talked and talked and he asked me about everything....I mean EVERYTHING...and he was just so completely cool about it...

I feel so awesome right now...swear I'm happier than I have been in...well, since mom died....

Just feel like I want to scream....:-D

Congratulations. What you have done, is the hardest thing...to be real and authentic with our families is hard. And kudos to your Dad, for knowing and helping. wow that is a really nice thing. Just give your Dad a big hug and tell him you love him. If he's as good as your post says, he will forgive all your shit, and love as the son you are. You are very lucky to have such a special Dad.

Thanks, guys. Yeah, I know I'm lucky, and that a lot of guys never tell their families, especially parents. Haven't really slept all night, been thinking about what a selfish bitch I've been...after mom died, I put dad through even more shit...and, tonight...last night...god it's almost 6:30 am...last night, he was just awesome. I need to get my shit together...

WOW, I'm so happy for you! If only it was so easy for everybody. It must be a great load off your mind. Trying to work up the courage to come out to family can be such a daunting prospect and for your dad to take the burden off your shoulders like that is just awesome. You are so lucky to have such a great and enlightened dad. Treasure him. Dads like him are a rarity. I wish you both all the very best. Steve xx
