Good subject. I'm one of the older guys on the line, just turned 70. Yikes! I went to junior high in the 50's, and high school in the late 50's. As for PE, we had big group shower rooms at both jr. and high school. Nobody seemed ashamed or scared about it, yet nobody was openly gay either, so no gay panic. Everybody was always swimming naked there also. Saw quite a variety of males from young like me to guys my age now. Again, nobody seemed freaked out by it, and it was all relaxed and peaceful. I just never had a problem with it, even though I didn't realize I was bisexual, or homosexual if you want. Looking back now, it almost seems like a lost paradise. In college I wasn't on the swimming team, but nudity wouldn't have worked, as the pool had big glass windows around it so you could see anything from outside. Again, we had group showers in the dorm and at PE classes. Again, nobody seemed to mind showering naked next to another guy. I did meet some out gay guys in college but not many. Now so many people are out of the closet that it puts straight people on guard and more modesty prevails. It seems like nudity in these situations today would be widespread, but just the opposite seems to be the case, probably due to fear and loathing of gays and all this hysteria about young kids being molested, and a lawsuit happy environment. That being said, don't get the impression that I'm in favor of older guys taking sexual advantage of underage males, especially some of the ages like 8-12. That makes me kind of ill, as I have a grandson about to turn 13, and I sure wouldn't want that to happen to him. Anyway, it was fun and relaxed back then, and I still remember some of my fantasies from that time.

I remember when I was in high school I always got so excited at the beginning of the year to see what guys were in my gym class. Thanks guys for posting with your experiences. My experience in Jr and Sr High School goes back to the 70's. Back in those days I was deeply in the closet, and highly emotionally conflicted about my gay desires. I remember too well the first time I took a shower with my hockey teammates when I was 11. It was a great pleasure to watch the guys for me then and I always enjoyed it in all the years I played. Just before I entered high school, I had a kidney infection. I recovered quickly but my family doctor kept me out of P.E. while I was in high school. I missed the group showers, which meant I didn't get to see what my friends looked like showering. we never showered in school, but i had spent time at a Y that had private and community showers. i always used the public shower as i was used to the family sharing one bath at home. summer camp was also an open shower at the pool. some of my worst memories because i was late starting puberty. when i did i ended up at 15 having oral sex with a 18 year old counselor who showered with us and saw my enthusiasm.

When I was in school we used to shower together after gymn class, I dont care what anyone said you always checked out the other guys dicks. We called it checking out the competition. I've always thought it was weird that straight guys take showers together like we did after gym class in high school. I mean I think it's hot to be naked in front of a bunch of other guys.
