John sometimes it takes baby steps to get the things that are fair like all struggles it will take time but its a start and without starts there is no middle and no ending. Its just another step toward equality even though it may be a tiny one.

They only rescinded the ban as a matter of national policy. Local scouting groups still retain the individual right to ban gays from scouting should they be so inclined. Since so many scout troops are sponsored by churches, the lifting of the ban on gays is practically meaningless. What I find more interesting is that the Boy Scouts retained their ban on atheists in their official national policy. What I would like to see is a Boy Scout troop made up of nothing but gay atheists. I can just imagine the merit badges unique to them that they could come up with.

Saw that and it's ABOUT TIME. New proposed guidelines could allow a recognized gay organization to sponsor a scout troop with Gay Leaders AND members too. YEH!!!!!!!!!
