Nothing to be ashamed of but I think you need to be extra mindful of the chance that your future partner(s), gay or female may find it hard to accept even though they may think they can cope.

it is ok to be ashamed sometimes. ..just don't make a habit of it. .it should be a good thing.to have more potential partners...xx

Hey Matt I had those kinda thoughts once, now I realised that there are loads more people who will accept you for who you are than question why, and they are the real friends to hold onto. You are unique and special, dont ever forget that

arron - we are sorry as well your parents are ashamed of u . how terrible is that to come from parents. geez

why? you are what you are...don't let others push you into the cookie cutter mold of what THEY expect of you. explore, grow, be you, and enjoy what you are ..your sexual life is NONE OF THEIR BUSINESS! be a nice person and you get back what you are..your parents are the ones who need counselling not YOU!

Put Simply if you feel ashamed ,or like Arron said, your Parents are ashamed of you, then
your life will be Miserable and the Homophobes, in this world have won. Be proud of yourself
and youll have a wonderful life of Self Respect and High Self Esteem. 8-)

My parents say they are ashamed of me because I am gay....I am sorry for them that they feel like that...

Matt this may surprise you (!) to learn, but 50 years ago you did not have millions of black people sitting around saying "I feel ashamed because of some in society's views on blacks - especially in a dozen or so States I can think of"...

Your post is ridiculous Matt.

It is what you want and like and others should respect you and if every Body was the same the world would be boring

hey matt, the sooner you can unburden yourself from this the happier your life will be. It's always easy to say that but in truth if this is a dividing line with your friends then perhaps they are not what you think they are. You need to look in the mirror and like who you see or it will be hard to love others if you cannot love yourself...

Gotcha. First, screw them. Second, keep in mind that people are repulsed by things that are different or what they can't understand, which is why gays and bisexuals were shunned for so long, and still has a long way to go. I know how u feel. It took me a long time to admit to myself that i am bisexual, and then longer to accept it. I still have a long way to go, as i am not "out". As a bisexual, I have the best of both worlds. Accept that you are what u are, and that's not likely to change, and importantly, there's nothing wrong with it. There will always be narrow minded people who don't understand. There's nothing wrong with you, I know you are in good company. As for those narrow minded people, their not accepting your bisexuality should be their problem, not yours. Your only problem is to accept who you are. Once you do, and I think alot here will agree, you will feel better about yourself. I sure did.
