What kind deed did you do recently that has got Karma back on your side?

<p>Today I was feeling kind of down, so I came up with an idea...It was a pretty selfish thing to do but it really made me feel happy knowing I was helping people. I took 900e out of my bank account that I've been saving for a while and i gave 500e towards kids in the philippines, 200e to a homeless eastern European family that I always see on the street and 200e to a local LGBT teen center that has helped me out a lot over the years. I felt pretty good about it afterwards. But that feeling was short lived as the realisation hit me that I am not down 900e FUCKKKKKKK! But the way I see it I could of spent that money on something stupid and I would of forgotten about it after a few days. At least those people will remember it for a long time :) Did you do anything good today? x</p>

I too congratulate you on your genorisity. And think how you chose to use it was for organizations that aren't about the hand out, but the hand up. And for me, Nick can go pound salt. The inability to respect other people's opinions and beliefs is arrogant.

and spending it on yourself .Im with BatmanseeksRobin and im proud of you.
I was raised to look out for others who are less fortunate than myself
but i do agree with the saying - Give a Hand Up and less of a Hand Out.

No, that is not correct Andy, I was expressing my opinion which I am entitled to do - and I do think donating money is a bit silly and the money is better off in your pocket. Manufactured and imaginary umbrage has no effect on me some people should grow a pair.

Those misfortunes are SAD and so are so may others....ALECTURE???? I don't do that. I 'WILL' call out wrong when I see it and this time YOU WERE WRONG, Hurtful, obnoxious and RUDE. I think you need to offer some kindness and not be so judgmental of people who help. TRY SOME KINDNESS....you are kind of NEW HERE so let me say...ASK AROUND about Andy - I'm no one to fool with when it comes to hurting others. I'm a worst nightmare coming to fruition.....DON'T GO THERE

@nate - How little you know... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christchurch_earthquake,_2010 -... which not destroyed the house I was living in in 30 seconds flat, but I spent much of that day assisting neighbours. Pulling people out of rubble at 4 o'clock in the morning and giving them a rug to wrap around themselves is something I have a bit of experience doing. I also fired up the barbeque and was able to make lots of cups of coffee and food for large numbers of people in the neighbourhood. A day spent giving assistance when and where it was actually required. Not sure I need a lecture on that thanks Andy.

Nick - I'm gonna challenge you on this one, Buddy. Your attitude is not acceptable Once I would have called you a Pompas ASS!!! Now -I'll say your are 'uneducated' in this area. I donate time and money to homeless LGBT youth and give much of my time to others. Have you ever seen the smile on the face of a hungry child when they are given a cup of hot soup after being brought in from the cold? I got hurt last night at 1am helping a widow with a water leak under her house. I'm a volunteer paramedic in my community and have seen things that would curdle your blood but I WAS THERE. Try VOLUNTEERING to help someone. Make an effort to Help and not be slamming those who do. WHO KNOWS - you may need a 'reach out' some day. Wouldn't you accept a hand from someone who's trying to pull you out from your house when a trembler comes and levels it? I love you buddy but be careful about this topic MANY at GBT give to help. As G.W. Bush once said, "You are with us, or against us - you decide"... HUGS!!!!

You are out of pocket 900 Euros (which about $10 New Zealand these days HAHAHA!!) and that is kinda dumb. You should have kept the money and spent it on yourself. Altruism is a crock because it doesn't actually help anybody, it just makes them come back for more. You should read what Ayn Rand has to say about that sort of thing - and she is quite right.
