What equal rights were to the black South African communitiy, much the same as the battle for Gay rights in the World, Nelson Mandela will be remembered for a stand and rise among the many hearts he touched.

Mandela will go down in history among the greatest of the 20th.C.but
one thing about him troubles me... why did he allow the evil dictator Mugabe carry on with his vile rule in neighbouring Zimbabwe?

lol Remington, I get it now. Quoting from Lethal Weapon 2, little before your time I think. It will be a very long time before we come across another like Mandela.

"I hate race discrimination most intensely and in all its manifestations. I have fought it all during my life; I fight it now, and will do so until the end of my days." Nelson Mandela

Most of the Countries in the World are winning the fight for equal rights for GLBT.
Depends on where you live I guess and how much Religion controls governance.

I fear that the fight for gay equality throughout the world will be much harder to win than the fight for racial equality in South Africa was, nevertheless fight we all must.

Fifty years ago Martin Luther King called out in hope, “Let freedom ring”. “Freedom” answered his call by walking out of Victor Verster Prison 27 years later - and the world embraced the human embodiment of that elusive concept in Nelson Mandela. The body that nurtured the concept is no more, and now the world again cries out, “Let freedom ring”, this time in tribute. Hamba kahle, Tata Madiba, your long walk is done.
