His final movie 'Family Plot' was great to watch, very funny in parts.

To quote the bard: Methinks the tart doth protest too much! And she didn't need any help ruining her "career". To quote Dorothy Parker, her acting emotions ran the gamut from A to B!

@Cheshire - 'she' says she didn't...and in retaliation Hitchcock ruined her career, not allowing her to work.

In reference to my earlier comments regarding Tippi Hedren's lack of acting chops, when I watched "The Birds", I was rooting for the birds! LOL ;--)))

Psycho. The only one I've seen completely through and with Anthony Perkins in the lead, the one I identify with the most. That used to be the deal. All psychos were queer and all queers were psycho regardless of the sex of their victim.

Who says she didn't? The lady was willing to do anything to please Hitch, whose wife was dumpy, putting it kindly. To be fair Hitch was no Gable, but there was a thing called the "casting couch".

I have an instinctive (and understandable lol) 'suspicion' of Irish Catholics but agree that Grace Kelly was a wonderful actress...I think Tippi Hedren should have let him shag her and thereby becoming a major star rather than being all prissy ...(and repenting at leisure)

Hitch threw a hissy fit when Grace Kelly retired from acting to become Princess of Monaco. To say he was obsessed with her is an understatement. He spent the rest of his directorial life trying to replace (clone) her, without much success. The most disastrous example of this was Tippi Hedren. Bosley Crowther, the NY Times film critic, said the best that could be said about Miss Hedren was that she was "woefully inadequate". Damned with faint praise indeed. Princess Grace was that rare thing, a complete original, who was in fashion terms, a one-off. There never was one like her before, or ever since. A priceless work of art, unique, irreplaceable, utterly impossible to replicate. I can well understand how Hitch felt for even though I am totally gay, I am also totally besotted by her, in the intellectual way one would be with be with a masterpiece. QED.

I am big fan of Alfred Hitchcock movies. I really liked Vertigo, Psycho, North by Northwest, Dial M for Murder and Rear Window. I also used to watch the weekly episodes of Alfred Hitchcock Presents on TV.

Yes, North By Northwest is just great; Cary Grant was one of the best

They are all good, interesting no one has said Vertigo or Psycho both considered to be his best. For me personally I would say North by Northwest and Rear Window. I loved the Franz Waxman score for Rear Window.

Rear window and The Birds

1. "Dial M for Murder". 2. "Rear Window". Both from 1954 and both w/ Princess Grace Kelly. A smouldering volcano covered with ice. If I was str8, she would be my obsession.
