@batmanseeksrobin, the joke is that they could not find a gay florist who'd agree to do the floral arrangement. I am guessing that according to the doctrines of the Westboro cult, one simply does not have a funeral prior to the burial.

I understand the mindless cowards in the family won't be having a funeral. I wonder why? perhaps they don't want a taste of their own medicine.

I agree with George Takei. His statement was very well put. But I do wonder, when George first heard the news, was his first reaction in private to say "Oh My!".

Im Proud of our Kiwi Singer Lorde who sang in Kansas city today and was protested out side her concert for speaking up for all Gays.

and was happy, his kids wouldn't do a proper funeral for him, which I think was not for the protests that would have happened

Interestingly enough, he will be buried without a funeral.

I honestly think he did more for gay rights than he did against gay rights. Hating soldiers is not exactly a recipe for success in a country like the US, and since he associated being gay with dead soldiers, a lot of the people who were on the fence swung over to the pro-gay rights side because they didn't want to be compared to a guy who was saying things like 'thank God for dead soldiers'

Until you treat everyone as an equal, you have no right to complain about the treatment you receive from anyone.

sadly with his passing the hate continues. In the Topeka Kansas Westboro church it is mostly his homophobic family that protested the funeral of soldiers who died in battle, so that HE can exercise HIS freedom of speech. I agree if gays go there I hope their protests are silent. He will be judged by HIS actions and life, and hate will do nothing to remove the hurt and harm he has done to so many individuals..

Let's forget about him now, please.

he was obviously so unhappy he had to make others around him unhappy too. And did a good job at it. He was excommunicated, his son was estranged from him.... says it all. How miserable an existence he had.

...and the world is better for his passing. What more can possibly be said?

Now that I've lashed out at this individual in another blog, I can sit back and agree with this one. What a poor unhappy soul he must've been.
