i find purpose in my relationship. a deep love and passion for someone else's life brings me great purpose to my everyday. that and i choose the field of being an educator to help instill purpose and confidence into the lives of others. i could care less what they book learn (although the state insists they pass minimum standard tests) my goal is to make a difference in their lives.

@Petrovskyv....you just fulfilled the purpose...to bring a smile to my face with your question....what greater purpose do we have than to bring a bit of joy to another....Hugs

Right now my purpose in life is to try and understand why I am alive. If I ever get to understand that, perhaps a new purpose will appear.

who ever our "Creator" is, he or she has given us the ability to LIVE our lives. it's up to US what we do with it. LOVE , LIVE, LAUGH

Never got any of the 'purpose of life' advice from my parents, unless you consider 'don't pick your nose in public' that sort of advice.

It took me 25 years of searching but I have found my purpose in life, the essence that I need to live a meaningful existence. He lays down beside me at night and is always there when I wake.

I've heard a number of younger people who are raising children say that their kids give them a reason for living, and I would bet that that is true for many people who have kids, but of course not everyone. After all, about 60% of births are a by-product of sex rather than the reason for it. My own view is that if you want meaning and purpose in life you have to go out and find it...it's up to you. Personally I have not found deep meaning or purpose in life yet. But I have not given up either.

This question was once asked to the Dalai Lama by a waitress in a restaurant when he was on a visit to Colorado. The waitress, without an invitation, abruptly sat down in front of him at his table and asked "What's the meaning of life?". While his hosts were horrified, the Dalai Lama simply smiled at the young waitress and, treating her like she was the most important person in the room, answered "Happiness". What a beautiful man.

I was always told as a youngster (wow... that was a while back!) that everyone has a purpose in life. Ever since that age, I have always had my own personal motto to live by: I keep happy, I love to make others happy and laughter truly is an amazing sound. For me, life without laughter would be such a sad place to be! I love to be caring too because I really have met some amazing people in life who have returned the care. Okay.. the question is: what is your goal/purpose in life? Right.... now this blogs done I'm off to exercise my chuckle muscles! hahaha ;)
