Mmmyes. Lol. I know of the origins in as you speak. I think that is what is understood by most. It's just the whole, "Alright, no get down on your knees and assume the position as someone comes around at the alter to "give you something" just seems odd at best. I wonder what I would find if I looked around on the internet about this, eh?

@zanyzander I think I explained the origins. It's a submissive pose and it's meant to show that you submit to your master's will... as though your hands are tied in front of you, helpless. Is it getting warm in here? :) Anyway its part of religious indoctrination and that is the origins of it. -- I don't pray, but I'd be happy to get into some Jesusy role playing...sounds all kinds of kinky :) you know... drink the juices... eat the flesh... etc... :)

Yes, SuperSlammer, BUT DO you know the history and origins of the practice? I'm just enquiring whatever other people may think or know. It's certainly fascinating to think about.

OK WeeNathan, I do worship Phallus as my personal deity. But I don't use my hands to worship Phallus, I worship Phallus with my mouth (and my anal canal should Phallus be desiring of it).

@swift. Only god I worship is same one you do. Phallus. He annoints us with his divine juice: sperm.

I wouldn't know since I don't pray to any god damn gods.

Sorry to say this, but I agree with @superslammer. I'm not sure where you got this from, but as @superslammer says, folding hands in prayer is an act of submission and supplication ... although not all Christian denominations do it ... the Orthodox, for instance, just keep their hands by their sides, sometimes with the palm turned forward in humility. It's true that monks get up to all sorts of things with each other (and having spent long periods in monasteries I've witnessed this), but what you describe is pure fantasy.

I stopped reading after the first few lines... seriously? The folding of hands is a show of submission. Such as a slave to his master. religion is a disease on the face of the planet :) So no it has nothing to do with sex. HOWEVER.. slave and master stuff can be sexual :)

So does the physical act of praying with your hands folded represent oral sex?! That's cRaZy to think! Especially since that no one seems to know about it or think about it...or at least talk about if there IS any type of awareness. I thought I heard on the radio a few years ago that the whole folding or holding your hands together somehow somewhere in the ancient past originates from monks who would perform oral sex on each person in their congregation. In particular when they (the congregation) would for example go up to the alter and "get on their knees" whilest the monks would walk around perhaps do something for example like communion. Instead of the bread of life or drinking the blood of Christ it WAS actually getting SOMETHING from SOMEONE but not neccesarily those thing, huh?! Then again maybe oral sex COULD represent communion?!! Duh it almost seems obvious. Because one of the whole points of praying since we were children was that you do not have to do any of these things to talk to God. It certainly doesn't have to have anything to do with this BUT it sure seems awefully suspicious to say the least does it not, eh?! Fascinating if I do say so myself! Am I amazing for mentioning this or WHAT?! Lol.
