Thanks Frank for Your contribution to this issue. Iā€™m also ā€œpessimisticā€ as you say (I donā€™t believe that is real pessimism but just a personal defense) and everyday is lived intense and happy. When something knock down like a parking fine or a flue, reaction is necessary to cheer up. A strong will and determination are necessary. It is our mission to help those who feel weak and down. Medical help is the last resource as most of the professionals have the ā€œdrugsā€ prescription mania. Psychologists are better come than psychiatrists. However friends help and advice is the best option. TKS

Yes, its a real social problem. Worrying becomes obsessive and then depressive. Some people need specialist help, but others can get trapped in dependence on a shrink when maybe a few good friends and a change of perspective is all that is needed. In my profession (education) I've tried to help a lot of people over the years. Personally, I'm a philosophical pessimist, so I'm always happy, having thought of the worst that can happen. Many f these problems are objectively quite trivial (though overwhelming for the individual). My love of mountains, seas and vast empty spaces makes my concerns only millimetres on a metre rod and keeps me sane (I hope).

Hi Wichser - I am healthy and fine - very well.
This problem is very real in society.
The most part of people they donĀ“t talk about their concern! And if someone is depressed sure he is not recognizing its hilliness.
Is a social problems that we must be aware in order to give help to those who need.

if you have problems don't keep them hidden inside. Talk to a parent, friend, someone here or if it is bothering you enough talk to your doctor. there are solutions to make you feel better. You have to reach out when you need help. -Brillo

Hey Castanho, it isn't clear whether it is you or the other person who has the problem, but I would say first rule out a clinical reason for the mania. Twenty years ago I was diagnosed with cyclothymia, a mood disorder with symptoms similar to those of mania but less severe. If so, it is treatable. If not, speak up.

If you've got a problem, then share it here. @castanho is right - if you talk it through with someone, get an objective opinion, you will often find that things aren't as bad as you thought. There are plenty of people on this site who are willing to help.

Yes jasechase! Na individual alone can not evaluate a personal situation as others outsider it.

Sometimes people think that they have a great problema but with outsider help they see that is not a problema but a simple situation that has do be solved.

All people need is to talk (if they have courage to do it - if not friends have tom pay attention to conversations or absenses).

After, like you said, once the problema solved life becomes fantastic.
