Are we not an accidental mix of chemicals in the primordial swamp followed by eons of the survival of the fittest. Our evolved brain is perhaps unique in asking these anguishing existential questions. We are on Nature's reproductive conveyor belt, une machine infernale, but that brain that has evolved for our survival can also let us step off and give momentary meaning to the essentially meaningless. Lets cushion our brief lives with friendship and wine and a thousand little desires and projects.

Birth>>Life>>Death...the wealth we obtain is in friends and family not dollars, in between.

Only when the last tree has died and the last river been poisoned and the last fish been caught will we realise we cannot eat money. ~Cree Indian Proverb ...... It's good to have money and the things that money can buy, but it's good, too, to check up once in a while and make sure that you haven't lost the things that money can't buy. ~George Horace Lorimer.......Money isn't the most important thing in life, but it's reasonably close to oxygen on the "gotta have it" scale. ~Zig Ziglar

The point of life is that it stops.

i do believe in god and that the point of life is to find happiness in love - with god, with a partner, with others, your neighbor, a stranger. share that love in helping others...do good always. your rewards come from seeing the results. what better way to feel good than to see how you have changed another's life. money and possesions are so overrated!

well i dont really know either but it is certainly not for accumulating money a billonaire is no more or less happier than you or i and i guess asks the same questions in the mirror every morning as you or i do - well the best state to be in is to be at one at ease with oneself - happy content so searching for these basic needs
subsistence - protection- affection- understanding- participation- leisure- creation- identity- freedom

guess this is what we want we wherent asked to be born so think the point is to find these if not today then tommorrow and pass them on to others - im no philosipher tc my friend giles

Life is what you make of it. Make yours a happy one, stay positive!

life is what you make it, sometimes you feel down you think what is living worth for, sometimes love is a bitch and you think no one loves you, but there is always someone loving you, maybe you didn’t find him yet, but he is still there. searching for love is a challenge and a big adventure and honestly, when life is always sunshine it will be boring. one thing is giving us hope, one thing is giving us love, one thing is showing us how wonderful life is, it doesn’t cost anything, it’s a gift. a simple SMILE gives you the reason to be. you are loved.

According to Jean Paul Sartre and existentialism, there is no point or purpose to existence other than the purpose that we create for ourselves. There is no divine purpose or plan because there is no god. Existence merely happens and it's up to the individual to determine what purpose they give to themselves. Whether it be the acquisition of wealth or the doing of good works, all actions of the individual are simply a manifestation of existential expression by the individual in seeking out his own purpose. In Zen Buddhism, the master will ask the student "Who are you?". The student will invariably state his name. The master will then respond with "I know your name. The noise you make to identify yourself from the herd. Now I ask you again. Who are you?". The student might then say "I'm a student of the Great Master". The master then asks "If you were not a student of the Great Master, would you then not exist? Now again, who are you?". The student by now is totally flummoxed and doesn't know how to answer. Then the master will ask the student "What do you want?". The student again is unable to answer because he doesn't know. And the reason the student doesn't know what he wants is because he doesn't know who he is. The question of "who are you" is not meant to be answered but rather is asked to compel the student look within himself to intuitively understand who he is, to find the "I". Once the student knows who he is, he will know what he wants because the two questions are inseparable from each other. And so Austin, once you know who you really are, once you drop the masks worn to deceive others and yourself, and discover what you really want, you will then know the answer to your question because you will have become enlightened.
