well said Isidore, I have said many times on this site , "the two biggest scourges to befall mankind are religion and politics, don't mistake them for spirituality and Government, they are not the same."

As an agnostic (one who believes in a creator not knowing if it is a she, he, it, they, or whatever)what you feel in your heart and mind is what should guide you. The divisive and controlling nature of religion and politics causes all the conflicts we have in this world right now. yes thank goodness, slowly things are changing.

Thanks for this, Dennis. There is a great deal of anger on GBT, and in the LGBT community in general, about the homophobic attitudes of various Churches and the religious right as a group - and rightly so. But thankfully (thank God??) things are beginning to change, although it's a slow process. There are plenty of Christians, and Muslims, who profoundly disagree with the way the teachings of their faith are misinterpreted by bigots with loud voices and personal agendas that are often motivated by insecurity about their own sexuality. One of the most pro-gay people I know is a Russian Orthodox Priest, and his views are shared by monks, nuns and ordinary Christians who I also know. So, to use a religious expression, 'the hand of God is now on the question of sexuality' - or, put more simply, there is hope.
