I lost my dad about 10 years ago..Even though he was never a friend or a good dad I took care of him when my mom passed. I wonder if he appreciated it. I tried to be what my dad never was to me to my kids but unfortunately when it came out about my outside interests in boys they kicked me to the side of the road..I did my best and gave them everything but it was never appreciated, just expected... I am the dad that many of their friends wished they had and have been told that by all of them...
I am a dad to strangers now and do all I can for them...

ah you're from KY... thats why you still call your father, daddy :) My family isnn't all that proud of me since I came out, so I don't feel all that warm and gooey over my family. My dad had a few strokes which drastically changed his personality... so he's not really the same person I remember as a kid, when I actually looked up to him. I still hold on to those memories though.

He was my best friend.

My dad and I lost the connection due to family issues with me. My son is everything I wanted to be to my dad. He's athletic, funny, smart, and confident. He is a good example of the respect I had for my dad to raise my own son right.

My Dad died in 1984. I miss him to this day. A great guy and I loved him with all my heart. " You don't know what you've got 'till it's gone " RIP Len.
