Things don't change overnite but there is an upside. IF an appeal is made soon enough, to the US Supreme Court, it could be heard this session. SINCE there now is a 'split' in the District Fed Courts, it would go to the ultimate decision from The Supreme Court. I say this is a National issue and it's time to make it right for ALL - take the politics out of it and then we can move forward as a united Nation. Some have raised religious concerns but who's religion??? Besides, separation of church and state is paramount to our Constitutional Liberties. HUGS to All......

Mike...I disagree...it is about fairness and equality. Thnx for the rest of the positive comments. It is about equal protection..if I marry in another state..Ohio should recognize..and if that is the case then make it so here...

I never thought it would be legal in Oklahoma. This is truly sad news for your state Thomas. So sorry Thomas.

It is still possible that the original plaintiffs can request that the entire 6th Circuit review the case. The alternative is an appeal to the Supreme Court, which would not hear the case until 2016 at the earliest.

Truly shameful indeed, I wonder why they didn't have the balls to make that decision before election day!

It makes me laugh - yet is so pathetic and sad - that conservatives think they own the word 'marriage', and that it's so sacred they have to ignore more important human issues like poverty - which they couldn't give a crap about - in order to foam at the mouth to protect their own selfish definition of a mere word.

The partner and I were hoping this court would follow the leads of all the other Circuit Courts that have ruled. And that we would be able to celebrate our 32nd anniversary of being together by getting married on December 18th here in Ohio. Guess that isn't going to happen now.
