think lunarwall hit the nail on the head. Become friends first see what you have in common, go to movies, swim fish camp, just be buds at first with no expectations. Without knowing your ages I can only suggest,(my assumption of age), maybe have him sleep over? watch some porn together, do some selfies for each other, see how HE reacts. good luck

So Jacobjack, you say the two of you have been friends for ages and you haven't figured out whether he likes boys yet. Ask yourself this. Does he go out with (ugh) girls? Does he often talk positively about (ugh) girls? If the answer is yes, then forget about it and move on. It's not going to happen. If the answer in no, then try this. In a private moment say this to him - "You and I have been friends for a long time so there's something you're entitled to know about me. I'm gay. That is who I am. If that bothers you and you don't want to be friends anymore I will understand. If you don't, I would at least like the courtesy of you keeping it to yourself". Say nothing about your sexual attraction to him for the moment until you can gauge his reaction. This is the moment of truth. You have knocked the ball into his court. He will either respond favorably or unfavorably. Either way, you will finally know where you stand. And if you lose him as a friend, so be it and move on. You were never going to get your dick in him anyway but at least you won't be wasting your time pining for something that was never going to be. By letting go of this friendship, you will be free to seek out and enter the gay world and pursue new friendships, friendships that will include the exchanging of sperm. With those new friends, you'll find out what real friendship is all about and you'll wonder why you wasted all that time and emotional energy with that other guy in the first place. Now is the right time for you to act or else you wouldn't be asking this question. Every day you delay is another day gone by deprived of the joys and pleasures of the blessings of your homosexuality. Let the group know what happens.

All good advice below, go slow and be friends first. If it is meant to be it will happen naturally when the time is right.

What I did was first told him I was lgbt he told me he was cool with that and that he would stick up for the gay boys at his school when ever they were being bullied we then hung out together everyday and when we'd meet up I'd give him a hug then after a short time I'd hug and give him a kiss on his cheek then one day we hugged and he put his head on my chest I looked at him in his eyes and kissed his lips then every time we met up we'd hug and I'd kiss his lips then one day we were at my house watching tv sitting on the couch cuddling I started kissing his lips he slipped me the tongue next thing I knew I was down his pants started sucking his dick today we're in love and been together for a couple years I'm semi out of the closet my family and some friends know I like guys but he's not out at all except a few close friends know he's into guys so it sucks we don't cuddle at movies or in the park but behind closed doors he's so affectionate

If you don't know him well, try to get to know him first. Be a friend, try to see if you have anything in common. Then, it might be possible to work into conversation the fact that you are gay. If you take things slowly at first, it has a better chance of possibly working out. Best of luck.
