Hitchhiking stories

In the early '70s, while I was on a break from graduate school, I had never hitchhiked before and decided to hitchhike from Houston to Denver just for fun.  It was quite an experience but nothing bad happened.  I traveled with a lot of people - all them nice and helpful.  The only sexual encounter I had was when a slightly older guy in north Texas picked me up on the way home.  I was very tired (as he could see), so when he got off the highway and pulled off near a bridge and put his hand on my thigh, I didn't resist.  He gave me a great bj and told me he would have liked me to fuck him, but he could see I was too tired.  Unfortunately he was still living with his mother, so he couldn't take me home with him. :(

Anyone else have any interesting hitchhiking stories?

I don't pick up hitchhikers. I've heard horror stories of guys giving rides only to be told by the hitchhiker that if the driver didn't give them money they'll call the police and tell them the driver tried to rape them. This happens a lot with female hitchhikers. And then you have the risk of psychos as in the case of Aileen Wuornos. Sorry, no more Mr. Niceguy for me.

At one time here in the UK, hitchhiking was the norm. Lots of military men - army, navy and airforce on the roads thumbing lifts home or back to camp. They were always in uniform and we all were happy to give these young men a lift. I had lots of good times - giving and receiving blow jobs with these guys. When the Irish troubles started here on the mainland - all hitchhiking by the military was banned. You still come across some guys wanting to hitch a ride - but few and far between and not military.

I like nifty, but I was interested in hearing about true experiences rather than fictional ones. From the few responses here, obviously hitchhiking is a thing of the past for the most part.

Either guys don't have any stories or just don't hitchhike anymore - probably the latter. It's a shame because it used to be great to see a young guy trying to hitch a ride.
