Actually been there also, pretty much just a very big pawn shop!  I'm sure some is"staged", if not enhanced, and some of the customers can be really offbeat, and I'm sure the make sure to get those on film.  Detroit has many really nice places and wonderful people of many nationalities/colors.. This show is not a true representation of most of Detroit.

I didn't watch it, just saw the outfit the guy's got, and heard the contempt in your voice.

Whatever he did, we all do.  Every last one of us.  Or, at least the cool ones.

Did you know every American gets his own reality show the moment he turns 18?

(This is "hardcore" "pawn", two words that don't exist together.  "Pawn" is what you do when you steal your grandma's jewelry to get a few bucks for some dope.)

Yes I fear they do in big citys where there are lots of trashy people who believe the F word is a prefix to every other word in the English language. Remember the show is in Detroit on of the most crime and drug ridden cities in the US, it also is in the "Getto" section where all the crack users and prostitutes etc are found. Thus they get colorful as well as desperate people coming in to try to get money for items. I personally like the show because Ashley is a bitch and Seth is just plain stupid and the Dad it out there! This makes for a fun ride. I do promise you it is not scripted, I got to go there several years ago it is a real business.
