Has anyone watched this? I have to watch this every night for a class. I'm absolutely floored that this was allowed to go on. Any Vietnam Vets want to chime in? Or any sane people out there?

Very true Kyle.  Nothing unites like a common foe.

Guynflint hit the nail right on the head!  War is big business; jobs, materials, transport, etc. equate to big profits for corporations.  While I'm proud of my country and it's people (with the exception of our "leadership"in Washington), it seems our "leaders" have to be fighting someone somewhere at all times.  We had to meddle in Viet Nam even though the French had been trying for decades and made little progress, then we had to go into Afghanistan, where the Russians had tried and failed to solve centuries old disputes, then it was Iran, Kuwait, Iraq and about anywhere there is conflict we can meddle in. Our brave military men and women are sacrificed to carry on the battles, which usually end with things reverting back to how they were before we were there.  How long do we keep killing people, ours and theirs before someone says WTF are we doing??

My take on this after watching a few episodes, is that the US got involved in Vietnam after the French left. Only as advisors. It escalated after that big time. 56,000 boys died for absolutely nothing. That does not count the wounded that are probably still hurting today, both physically  and mentally. It's really hard to watch it and I've only watched a few episodes. I know how it ends and that's not a pretty picture.

I have watched all as well. I have been to Vietnam 4 times in the last 4 yrs. Truly a sad event. but we are seeing the same now in or current wars.

it was awful but not the fault of those who served. driven by the military industry and it's contractors. a sham and a shame

I remember watching news reports on tv every night about the Vietnam War. Agent Orange affected many New Zealand soldiers that were "volunteered" for that conflict - a conflict that had nothing to do with us. Our taxes have had to pay for the ongoing treatment of these guys' many psychological and medical problems. Thanks America.

when I was a kid at school in the UK we watched the news every night to see the horror of Vietnam, uncensored gore, live action, people being actually killed in front of the camera.....everything was re-enacted in the school playground the following day

It'll be the usual left wing, biased, anti-American, pro-enemy, crap these sorts of things all are. They get away with it because young people don't know any better, just assume what they are seeing is real.
