Hi y'all.  I'm doing a talk radio show on Monday evening  (I think..  could be Tuesday).   Basically, it's a show where I pick a topic, and invite listeners to Skype in and discuss it. This is a hard topic for me but I will be covering the issue of homophobic bullying.  If any of you could help me out by writing down some helplines  (any country)  or self-help sites I'd appreciate it.  I did try to look it all up myself but it's taking me too much time and I need to get that show together.  I already have the U.K. "Childline" number down on my list  (where children or young teens can call confidentially for help and support on most issues)  but could do with help on others.   I'd appreciate any help you can put on here.  Thanks everyone :)   And yes, Nick..  I'd be happy to give GBT a plug! (that sounds odd LOL...   I mean plug as in a mention! hahaha)

I agree with Nick about the love you part, Thomas... you are more than just a friend to me. As I've said before, and I don't mind who knows this: you are family to me. If I were to have had a father like you, I would be a proud man.... you've got me through a lot. So yes (((hugs))) I love ya xx. Still doing research for the show, guys.. there's been a lot of useful help and I've managed to make notes. I'm just scared of getting my facts wrong live on air LOL.

Thanks Nick. Not sure that is true. There are many here who day in and day out are working hard to make our world a safer, more inclusive and caring place. But I do appreciate the kind words.

Hi Jordan, I can not add any links to help you with your show, sorry about that. As for the detour that this blog has taken, Nick and Thomas have both made good points. It is true that having openly bi and gay role models would advance our cause. Also true that some people are tired of hearing about the legal/political babble going around. However, the legal/political side of the issue is important. Thomas is right in saying that we have a long way to go to gain equal rights. Important new legislation is in the works to assure equal rights in the areas of employment and housing. We all need to push for the passing of this law and we need to support the politicians who are on our side. If we get a Republican in the white house, the president would no doubt appoint new Supreme Court judges that would not be on our side. That would be very bad for us. As the older judges retire, they must be replaced by more open-minded and compassionate ones. We are far from being treated as equals in the workplace and in housing, as well as simply walking down the street in many towns across the country and around the world.

Dennis... thanks, bud! There's a lot of info there that will help in a BIG way.. I can finally get that show prepped. I have problems with my audio tonight so the show is on hold for another night sadly. I promise it will be airing either Monday or Tuesday night. I believe the audio problem is driver based and can be fixed eventually... Windows 10 is a pain for sure hahaha. Thomas?... c'mere bud... good to see you as well (((hugs))) don't mind me, guys... the event tonight has really opened my eyes to a bright future :)

I will differ with you Nick. According to a national survey, over 50% of LGBT employees are not out at work. There is a big difference between what business says is it culture and what actually happens in the individual work group. I see it and hear it all the time. The issue is not so much homophobia but rather the explicit heteronormativity that exists in most group settings. Until people can be authentic in the workplace without fear it is an issue. This is what I do day and day out with businesses and organizations.

Nick...will beg to differ with you about having all our rights. In 29 states it is still legal to fire, refuse to rent and serve someone because they are LGBT.

That would be a gr8 topic too Jordy.....maybe put it on ur short list. I'm sure Nick could even provide you with some info links on the topic so u can do a little research on it beforehand.

Jordy....go to my 'ABOUT ME' page and check out all of the help links on the right side of the page....they all open a new page to the specific link. Just pick out the ones you think would be the most appropriate. Good luck with the talk show. :D
