If you put a man in any uniform, he becomes power mad, give him a gun, and your in trouble.

From corrupt leaders to successful bullies and criminals (and even terrorists), why does it always seem that the bad guys come out on top?  There are specific psychological reasons why bad people are able to exploit others to their advantage part of the problem is our tolerance for bad behavior, and unwillingness to intervene. There is more we can do to stop the bad and promote the good and we should remember that biases in social perception may give the illusion that the bad guys are winning, even though they’re really not.

Which of these people is the biggest danger to Americans? is it -

1. These two cops?

2. The nasty, spiteful senior Clinton adviser who has an enormous sense of entitlement? Who thinks people attending Ivy League Universities automatically makes them superior? who tries to pull rank to get her own way?

(if some folks weren't soooooo mindbogglingly ignorant they'd answer this question correctly)

Interesting to notice the cop's first reaction was to grab his nightstick. He thought twice though because he knows that these white kids might have parents with connections. When I was young, I got let go with warnings a few times when I was stopped because they knew who my dad was and he was well-connected in the town. If you're poor or a minority though, you can't get away with this. Obviously the kid was a little over-agressive in his tone, but I've seen cops take an attitude with people plenty of times for no other reason except to be an asshole and because they can. Certainly there are many good cops out there who are just trying to do their jobs. But people who are attracted to careers as cops, securty guards, prison guards, etc. all too often have an inferiority complex and a need to compensate for their own lack of self-esteem. Give someone like that a badge, a gun, uniform and a baton and they quite often will use the power those things bring to boost their egos. This is not about hating cops. It's about a problem among a certain subset of L.E. officers who abuse their power for their own selfish reasons. That hurts the perception the public has of police in general and makes it difficult for the ones who are actually mean well. In my own city this used to be a real problem among some in the police force. After they raided one of our gay bars and held the patrons hostage, forcing them to lay on the ground, invasiely searching their bodies for no apparent reason it caused such an uproar that the city took action formed a task force of members of the lgbtqia community to work with the police on cultural sensitivity issues. They also recruited a number of lgbtqia police officers and had a liason from the police department to the community. It improved the situation greatly. The PD participates in the Pride Parade and is now very supportive. I've spoken to a few who told me they find the Pride event to be one of the best behaved crowds and actually enjoy the even. Also, they were kind enought to put Westboro Baptist protesters behind barrccades in a virtually invisible corner at the very beginning of the parade so they would hardly be noticed. I couldn't help but walk by the caged Westboro group. Not surprisingly I found myself assaulted with a lot of hateful words, even from children. It was surreal, as if they weren't even human. I made eye contact with the cop standing nearby and he just rolled his eyes and shook his head and we both chuckled, wondering why these weirdos would come all the way from Kansas to tell people that god hates them. The lesson is that no group is all good or all bad (except for Westboro Baptist maybe).

The Officer didn't know that a bylaw specific to that section of the boardwalk even existed believing there was one bylaw for the entire boardwalk. The kid knew the bylaw. and rubbed it on the Officers face. Funny yes but I would recommend. reasoning in a calm manner with his knowledge of the bylaw specific to that section of the boardwalk. You get respect by giving respect. Squirt you weren't arrested but rather only held for questioning custodial Miranda only applies where someone is undergoing custodial interrogation i.e. being questioned while their freedom is restrained. I can't comment on how this general concept would apply to the specifics of your case. I heard of a 17 year old, who spent 56 hours in a part of a police station where she had to be escorted through hallways (who got her period while sleeping on chair in the non-interrogation interview room and had to yell for a male cop to take to the bathroom) who was nonetheless found not to be in custody (by the trial judge--the issue never went to appeal) because the police would have escorted her out the front door if she had asked. And no, there was no requirement that she be told that.

What would be great is if everyone stopped being a "victim" - pretending they are black teenagers being harassed by some redneck Sheriff.

Is this the latest liberal thing? you get to pretend you're a black teenager to show solidarity with victims? kinda pathetic

Our cops need to behave like that hero cop in Canada who arrested the killer in the van.  Our cops operate like 3rd world cops.

A few years ago I was locked up though I committed no crime and wasn't at any time accused of a crime  I wasn't read my rights  was held overnight and let go the next morning and still at no time was I read my rights or told what I was arrested for. I did ask the booking officer that I may speak to the officer in command. he said the officer that brought me in was the duty officer. lol btw I don't have a criminal record. So don't say that the cops are here for our safety there were  5 or 6 other cops on scene and no one did the right thing in protecting me as a tax paying citizen. therefor all are guilty to some degree. I never persude any action towards the cop/s in question because I have to live in this city.

Maybe you should show a lot more respect for the Police rather than using insulting names for them; they keep us safe from evil-doers.

Can you name the last time you were harassed by a Police Officer who called you a "faggot"?

We've got to remember too, guys, that in the Cop Culture, we're just fuckin' faggots, a lesser class of people.  So it's good to, not only 1) be well-informed on the laws, and also 2) be respectful of the pig even if he's not being respectful to you.

In my opinion, most pigs are low-life worthless criminals-from-the-inside, who deserve to be beaten into the freaking ground.  (Just my opinion.)
