Facebook Working with Law Enforcement to Battle Suicide.

Blog Last Activity 5 years ago 351 views 11 comments

It would appear that, for the past few months, Facebook has been using Artificial Intelligent algorithms to scan what is being said on their platform that might indicate an individual is contemplating suicide and alerting Law Enforcement. They are also working toward using the same technology in other ways. We were wondering how you feel about this.

I'm disinclined to believe that FB gives a rat's ass about suicide , law enforcement likely does on an officer by officer basis , but as a whole Nah . I feel that the less "they" know about you - the freer you are .

Minority Report (2002) anyone? Most are not aware of the sci-fi anime Psycho Pass but both are very telling and accurate to where we are, might be heading. I'm not a fan of Tom Cruise personally (he has some great movies though) Minority Report by Steven Spielberg and its screen rewrite from the original concept by Phillip K. Dick (lick my dick? sorry I had to) is a pretty good and the tech in it is the model of what we're soon achieving. Both are the ethical dilemmas confronting us today moving forward.
