I remember seeing adverts for this thing in the Gay News back when I was a young 'teen, but of course I didn't have a shot at actually being able to see it in the one London cinema that actually screened it-for all of two weeks if memory serves. I was able to get hold of a copy of Peter Allen's source novel, but it didn't make a strong enough impression to span the years. It engendered, then, a definite shock of recognition that I encountered the film here, and while finally seeing it can't be counted as a bucket list accomplishment, it was a interesting and satisfying experience, even if the film is, predictably, quite bad.
