Just when I thought I had heard every evil in the world. A church ( and I use the word very loosly) in Kansas is claiming that GOD sent the shooter to kill the children in Conn. because Conn has legalized GAY marrage. It was GOD's Punishment. A growing movement in the USA has started to get them classified as a HATE Group a pettition has been filed with the White house that has over a quater of a million signatures. If we can force the government to classify them as a hategroup we can stop their actions. I am all for free speech but this is too far, this is just plain evil, and I fear it will lead to more violence and spilling of blood. These are the same nut jobs that picket at fallen soldiers funerals saying GOD hates your soldiers and Fags must all die etc. Please help No matter how you feel about me, I beg you help stop this maddness.

I think GOD has very little to do with these nut jobs. in fact some day I suspect they will have much to answer for. I would very much like to be there to watch that!

It's just more hate all in the name of a supposed merciful god. It makes me wonder why people continue to worship supposed all in the name of hate. I am with swiftjohn on this subject. I think I have seen enough of this supposed merciful gods work to n=know he is anything but what people put him up to be.

I believe in God and Jesus. But my family and I are not a member of a church just for this reason. I was 14 when I came out and when the church that we attended and always went to every Sunday heard about me. They told mom and dad I was going to hell. We never went back.

They are a screwed up bunch is about all I can say, if I am mentally ill because I am in love with the greatest guy in my world I will take that ailment any day over what is festering in these people heads. According to Wikipedia they have about 40 members and 38 of them are from the head pastors own family. It also says they are an independent Baptist church meaning they are not affiliated with any legitimate Baptist organization and have been denounced by several. I think what we probably have is a bunch of inbred losers who want to be big shots and the only way they can get attention is to be as vile and disgusting as they can be.

againsnt Gays than there was when The KKK were brainwashing there kids minds. Its a childhood
of HATE and very little love.. I call it child abuse really. This is Human Rights and we must
speak out against them. I cant beleve that they think that there real Christians.

The Westboro Church is well known for its hate and hate tactics. And they are a despicable group...and in fact they are mostly a family...that being said a couple of facts from a US point of view. What they are doing is protected speech under our constitution. And that is a right that I strongly support. Even when the speech is evil and disgusting. And I do support the efforts to label them as a hate group. But the US government does not label group. The hate group label that gets written about here is from a label assigned by the Southern Poverty Law Center. A non-profit organization established during the earlier civil rights movement. The President has no power to label the. He only has the power of the bully pulpit. I put out these facts so that non-US folks can understand the issue as it exists here. I am not defending their actions or words. But I am trying to put it into an understandable context.

I don't believe in "Big Brother" poking it's nose in everyones affairs, and I do believe in the freedom of speach, but these guys are really taking it too far and need to be stopped by Government intervention. After all, it was the freedom of speach that allowed Mr. Hitler to incite hatred of minority groups with very little opposition. These wierdo's must br stopped at all costs, before they start getting more support from other so-called "christian" groups. Just another reason not to believe in church groups. (I also don't believe in the almighty) I gotta say, the whole thing is just so fucked up - how can anyone not be affected by these killings. But twist it to suit their own agenda's is just plain fuckin' sick!!!!!!

Sounds horible - what a twistd logic; what a terrible thing to say to the parents of the dead children. I hope Obama does the rihgt thing with this petition
