On the first day of social studies class in 6th grade, I was paired up with this kid name Devin to find out what we did that summer. He talked about skateboarding on top of a ramp that was on fire. I loved the way he told the story with his goofy smirk. At home that night, I was up contemplating the feelings I had for him when I came to the conclusion that I was gay. My cousins and siblings had been mockingly calling me gay, fag, etc. for quite some time, and I thought, "Maybe I am..." So, in a very lackluster way, I accepted that I was gay and was very comfortable about it when I went off to bed. Sadly, I wasted the rest of my teen years coming to terms with being gay, but I got to crush on Devin for 4 years straight.
