This week also marks the 10th anniversary of the US Supreme Court decision holding that state laws saying that gay sex was a crime (anti-sodomy laws) were unconstitutional.

oh yea. i have read about it. it was worth fighting i guess to allow us the rights that we have today and the rights that we will no doubt have to fight for in the future.

I know what the stonewall riots mean and the importance it made to gay rights in the states.

Thanks for the reminder, Thomas. This might come as a surprise to most of the younger gays, but the reason we celebrate Pride each year, and that the celebrations are usually in June, is to remind us of the struggle gays experienced and how the Stonewall riots were a major breakthrough for gay rights.
