Belief in "god"

Seriously? It beats me how anyone can kid themselves that much, let alone gay boys who have historically been subject to unbelievable horrors at the hands of religious people. I am sorry if this seems harsh. I can only just allow that people choose to believe in a "personal god", which amounts to an imaginary friend. But organised religion? Nope! Nnnnnnope! After Galileo, Newton and Darwin? I'm quite pleased that we are a brotherhood of humanity and that our cousins are mushrooms (and every other living thing on our planet). How can anyone be such a masochist as to want to try to reconcile belief in an all-loving god with what it says in the supposed god's book? Sorry to raise the god topic but in some places the question is one of life or death. Where I am from being a Catholic in the wrong street puts your life at risk. I can understand the temptation to seek out (and imagine you find) a "higher power" when things get tough as a gay person, but really! Jesus? How can anyone believe that guff?!

Man created god in his image. That's why god is such an asshole. In a world without religion, good people will continue to do good things and bad people will continue to do do bad things. But to get good people to do bad things, you must have religion.

Allister Crowley, "Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the law"
The only thing missing from the bible is "Once Upon a Time" at the beginning.
Be kind to all, but be wary.

all religions are manipulative and controlling and do "brain wash children " into their beliefs.

I prefer to be spiritual..a belief in what is good, how to treat others, and it comes from MY heart and MIND not the controlling lies and influence of extreme organized religions.

There has never been a war that hasn't been caused by religion or partisan politics. Think about it! The moment they start telling you what to wear or what to eat..time to have a look in the mirror at yourself.

There is no GOD...only a Creator and SHE is pretty pissed at all of us right now lmfgao!

YOU are what YOU have allowed yourself to become.

Maybe in the future we should reinvent The Church and have it based ,not on an old 2000 yr old book were times were much different. A new church could welcome all comers and treat them all the same with love and compassion. No snobery or Ban on Gay Ministers,No hoarding money like The Mormons were so many people and Childre live in Poverty. No priests accused of Sexual crimes just moved to another district to Harm other Children,Any Religous Group premoting violence and Mass killing,Dissmantilled and all churches to Marry Anyone without discrimination. A New world church that fights for Hunger and all Wars to end.

I think everyone should believe what they want, as long as they aren't hurting anybody or pushing their belief on others.

that each creates what you want and I respect that.
But the reality is just having power.

religions have helped stabilize societys...they have done good things...I just believe they are wrong...we are all different..standard thinking is born--live--die--heaven or hell...I reject that..we don't all start at the same place..some are born into war famine poverty abuse.....some loving caring nurturing .....we are (spirits)experiencing the material world in the mind/body karma gives us to work here...at the end we stay intact as the spirit we are...eventually we stay as a spirit ....just what I believe...it makes everything I see understandable..

What most people don't realize is there's a difference between "Spiritual Christians" and Religious Christians" true spirituality defeats ego (deny yourSELF) and puts on Christ by being a doer of his word. Most Religions teach theirs is the right Religion and the others not. which promotes self righteouness and judgement of others. exactly what Christians aren't supposed to do! --
Jesus said some are born gay..

Here Jesus refers to "eunuchs who have been so from birth." This terminology ("born eunuchs") was used in the ancient world to refer to homosexual men. Jesus indicates that being a "born eunuch" is a gift from God. Matthew 19:10-12

Wanna know what pisses me off? When people point to sexual abuse cases in the clergy, atrocities in the middle ages, or acts of terrorism by fundamental islamists to justify casting aside all religion and insinuating that people who do not do so are stupid. On the contrary, most non-extreme religions developed nations promote virtues, community, charity, and morality, all institutions that have been systematically decomposed over the past few decades by the liberal machine and its loyal brain trust, such as Hotdong8.

"Extraordinary claims require extraordinary proof." One does not need to disprove the existence of a god/goddess/group of dieties; the requirement for proof lies with those who claim a god exists. When they provide solid, repeatable evidence, I'll listen...I'm not holding my breath.
