Hi Kev, You are of course correct that a previous Brit has won since Fred Perry but they have all been tarts (sorry I mean ladies). Andy was the first mens champion for 77 years. Since Fred's win there have been 4 british ladies, the last one being Virginia Wade in 1977. Dorothy Little won in 1937, the year after Fred. Angela Mortimer (who was partially deaf) in 1961 and Ann Haydon-Jones in 1969. Martina was not british and is in fact a Czech American (Whatever that means!) Here endeth the lesson. Hugs and kisses.

lol dupsspanker. why are they saying that he is the first brit to win wimbledon for 77 years. according to the history books, Virginia Wade won womans singles in 1977. so thats only what 36 years ??

Well Kev not sure if you saw old misery Andy on the TV. He was good on Breakfast TV but by this evening he was fed up and said all he wanted to do was go to bed and get away from the media and attention.!!!!!

yea well done i agree. its been a long time joke now about what nationality he is. its quite funny really having this debate with people. they really get up on their high horse. lol
