Been to all the major ones in my home state of CA , especially the L.A. Pride as I lived down there for close to a decade. Had many wonderful, fun times at them and couldn't wait for the L.A. one. They are a great place to feel part of the LGBT community and I always did have a sense of pride. Last few years though, they haven't been near as much fun---guess I'm getting jaded as well as old! They are still fun but too many people, too hot, everything is so commercial and expensive and sorry to say but--not trying to be judgmental---but so many unappealing and way too strange people for me. When you are younger, they are such an even---as you get older, not as much.

http://www.worldpridetoronto.com/ is the link for this years World Pride Celebration venue being held in Toronto Ontario, Canada June20-29. It is a fantastic opportunity to party, meet those from around the world and also to learn about those who face such opression around the world. Many are not as lucky as us, to have freedom of speech or freedom to be who we are, or even to Marry. If any of you are interested in more information, see the website, and IF you are coming to Toronto, (plan your hotels NOW) I'm happy to give you some advice on restaurants or visiting sites here in Toronto, or Niagara Falls, or Montreal. (Private message me) Come and see the biggest Pride parade you will ever see on Sunday June 29 at 2pm..expect a million people there..hope to see YOU! hugz to all of you paparon xoxo

I grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area, and, in 1970, while I was still in Junior High (as it was called waaaaay back then), I hadn't quite identified myself as gay, but, definitely knew I liked boys. Coinciding with the first marches in New York and Boston, San Francisco had a "Gay-In" at Golden Gate Park. I'd heard about it from an older friend and went to see...oh, my! The political and social impact, I'll admit, were lost to me...I was, after all, a very horny boy and my only real interest was looking - and, meeting - all the other horny boys ;-) From that first one through the mid-90s, if I was in town, I attended every Gay Pride event in San Francisco, and had a wonderful time at them all. I've also been to Pride events in Honolulu, San Diego, Chicago, Toledo, Cleveland and Detroit, and they've all been marvelous. As has been said, attending one (especially in a major city) should be on everyone's "bucket list."

I've attended in Washington DC and in Albuquerque. I will keep attending. It is a really great energy. Not only is the LGBT community present in full force, but a very number of the entire community is there, too. It is lots of fun, and in Albuquerque, the Pride Festival is held the same day as the parade. The NM State Fairgrounds (Expo NM) is the location. It feels like the entire city is there. Lots of music, lots of booths, lots of fun, too.

Pride is an important statement for the community. we get to celebrate our diversity...to let the world know we are here...queer and they can get over it....but to quote a friend...I will walk in the Pride parade in the hopes that one day..it won't be necessary to fight for the right to be me....and then...we can just party

Yes, in SF. It was an outrageous blast! Going to one should be on everyone's "bucket list". When you have, then you have truly come out and are a certified proud gay brother. Sweet. Meow. ;--)))

yes In Toronto and Montreal, nice to see various groups that have been suppressed for so long, marching and enjoying their new found freedom. The one group that emotionally tears me up every time, is the PFLAG group ... parents who have seen the light and who support who their sons and daughters, and who/what are.. very touching and they get a huge response...If you have never gone to one, I suggest make the trip some time. This year I'm lucky the International Gay Pride is being held in Toronto and will see a million people lining the parade route, which is over 2 hours.. wow! If you are interested get your hotels booked now. Welcome to all that come.

Several times locally. It's a nice thing to be a part of and it's fun to watch people's different reactions to us as we take over the street. A truck tried to run through the parade at an intersection one year...that was not so nice. Pissed people off.
