Not All Pleas And Discrimination Are Created Equal

Blog Last Activity 9 years ago 271 views 4 comments

There has been a recent, and highly effective, boycott of the Dorcester Collection Hotel chain because it is owned by the Sultan of Brunei who has recently introduced a law for 10 years imprisonment and stoning to death of gay men.

Various people from Richard Branson to Stephen Fry to the Beverly Hills City Council have announced a boycott and it is making quite an impact on the company.

The Chief Executive has made a 'plea' to end the boycott sighting unemployment of its staff as an inevitable result; but I am sure his plea will be about as successful as a gay man 'pleading' for mercy in Brunei.

The CEO makes a risible claim "we do not tolerate any form of discrimination, never will, never have" (unless you like sucking cocks that is)

The hotels which the company owns - which GBT members should boycott to teach these pricks a lesson - are: The Dorchester, Beverly Hills Hotel, Plaza Athenee, Hotel Meurice, Principe di Savoia, Hotel Bel-Air, Coworth Park, 45 Park Lane, Le Richemond and Hotel Eden.

@BackStreetBoy - If I wanted to see an orangutang I would watch a YouTube video of Donald Trump. I personally will never spent one cent in any establishment whose owner holds people like me in such contempt that they would stone or execute me for my sexual orientation. And if our boycott leads to the unemployment of their staff ... fuck 'em. We should always spend our gay dollars where we a accepted and welcomed. And those places' staffs will be employed instead, hopefully with a lot of hot gay guys.

So because they aren't as bad as Uganda that makes it okay? ...a bit like saying "Uganda isn't as bad as Hitler, so that makes it okay"

You guys ever been in Brunei? If you just act as normal there's no problems. Dancing Queens are maybe different thin.. I don't agree this country's policy and politics nowadays and also before but worth of visit 3-4 days or more if want to see original orangutangs -and local very friendly people without having or propose gay sex there. In Borneo, especially travelling to Sarawak (Malaysia site) . I don't defend this situation at all but this miniature country is totally different and worth to see. 100% better than Russia and Uganda. Conditions for example in Uganda are absolutely terrible comparing to Brunei. Cheers boyz:)
