I thoroughly agree with @Playbuddy - thanks for that Jake. Nick does a fantastic job. The great strength of GBT is that it's an international community of interesting, amusing and (for the most part) kind and helpful people. We have no boundaries, and if we have any 'agenda' at all it's tolerance, respect for other people and their views.
Sorry, Nick, if in my last post I gave the impression that I thought you should 'set an agenda' on here - that's not what I meant. I just think it might be good if, on the new-look site, you say something on the home page about this being an active and flourishing community as well as a porn site, that like all communities we have shared values, and that we welcome anyone who wants to be part of that community. Forgive any misunderstanding.

Since the subject of religion has been entered into the discussion in the earlier posts, I can't resist the opportunity to add to it. Religion is fundamentally about control of the individual. Since sexual desire is a primal and continuously occurring drive, religion seeks to control it. By controlling a person's sexuality, you control the person. If religion can indoctrinate you from an early age with some kind of guilt complex and self loathing over your own natural desires by labeling them as "sinful" requiring atonement and absolution that only religion can provide, then you have voluntarily surrendered power over yourself to others. And that's what religion wants - power over you. I am an atheist. I believe in no god damn gods and I refuse to give others power over me who try to frighten me with the threat of supernatural retribution. I consider religionists to be nothing more than snake oil salesmen running a very old con game on self-perpetuating suckers.

I think that Nick is doing a TOTALLY AWESOME job with this site. It provides a much needed platform for gays to interact. As many of us here, I was first drawn to this site by the videos. However, I now find the blogs and friendships to be the most important aspect of GBT. After reading what Nick has added to this blog, I now have a newfound respect for Nick. I agree totally with his views on society and with the way he is managing this site. THANK YOU NICK!

I second what @WeeNathan says, Nick, it would be good to see some blog posts from you about how you view GBT as a site, what its rationale is, because you obviously feel very strongly about the whole subject of gays in society (as I do). Maybe when you do the next major update (I think you said around September time), you might think of putting a permanent statement on the home page, something that would tell people visiting GBT for the first time (and perhaps some of the longer-standing members as well) exactly what it's about, the thinking behind it, basically 'the way we do things here'.

@Nick18. Dude U R quite the philosopher! Even though U R very busy, we all would really like to get your philosophy behind GBT. Very valuable insight for us. Helps us understand what makes this place tick. As for me, am actually spending more time czeching out the blog scene an PM w/ friends than on the porn. I find the JO and oral vid action quite stimulating, :)), but the anal action gets repetitive and mechanical after awhile. And when the top pulls out ans finishes himself by JO on the bottom, kind of a downer all the time. Would LOVE to see LOTS more creampie action where the top cums inside the bottom and it oozes out his hole. Or even hotter is when he sucks it out and they snowball it. Hawt! But back to blog point, maybe you could have occasional blog post about GBT philosophy like the update blog. Please consider it. TY :))

Interesting point, Nick - but when I said 'under 18' I was thinking more of 17, maybe 16 year-olds at a push. As you say, at 15 most people are too timid to look for sex online ... BTW, do you have any way of actually checking how old someone really is? Just curious.

@swiftjohn - yes, very good point, you're right about the models from Central and Eastern Europe; and quite a lot of them are from Russia. European boys do tend to look younger. Another thing to remember about the Eastern Europeans is that they're poor - unemployment is high, salaries very low, little or no social security - so making a bit of cash (especially if it's dollars) in porn videos is very attractive to them.
@naughtyfunboy and @WeeNathan - I think there are probably quite a lot of under-18 users on this site. In the end, who's going to stop them?

@naughty. Why there aren't any of course! That would be improper, immoral, and illegal. Am shocked and appalled at the suggestion that there would be underage boys here trolling for other underage boys. What depths of depravity has this world sunk to? Think I'll go back to my milk and cookies now. After that will crawl into my bunk and go beddy bye as it's nearing my bedtime of 8 PM, and if I stay up past that, my nanny will be very cross w/ li'l ol' me. Nighty Nite all!

And one more thing to consider. Many of these models are from eastern Europe. Eighteen year olds from eastern Europe tend to look much younger than eighteen year olds in the US. That is because in the US, unlike eastern Europe, they grew up eating meat and drinking milk that came from animals pumped full of growth hormones which contaminated the food supply and hastened the onset of puberty at a much earlier age. High school boys with beards and pregnant twelve year old girls being the result.

Shaving their body completely smooth of all hair will also have the effect of shaving off some years of their apparent age. An eighteen year old who body shaves can look much younger than he really is but he is still an eighteen year old and therefore legal. A fifty year old woman doing porn dressed as a girl scout is still a fifty year old woman doing porn regardless of how she's dressed.

Just looked at that link, @cgreer - I see what you mean, but from his physical development (shoulders, thighs, calves etc) he could easily be 18, and as it's not a frontal shot you can't tell by his pubic hair or the size of his cock (although that's not always an accurate indicator either) ... he's also an emo type, and they tend to give an impression of being younger ... personally I wouldn't worry about that one.

You will see more pics of underage boys than vids. This is likely to happen for all the reasons already detailed here. This is a hot button topic that has been addressed in the past and the commenter has often been flamed as a result. Think @marsh & @isidore have summed things up pretty well.

ummm..... wouldnt you tell by size of cock? I was a fat kind who looked real older when I was wayyyyyy underage. but I still was always the online porn surfer type back then. this is me now....I was over 300lbs bere in mind.
