To me they taste like pumpkin pie, and I don't know if they will grow in the UK giles It takes about 8 years before they start to bear fruit these are known as bakers.

They are persimmons. don't steal them ask i bet he would be more than happy to let you pick them. here is what you do:
1- leave enough of the steam they have a built in hook you need the hook for hanging

2- wash them in cold water

3- peel them leave the green top in place, if you don't they wont hang

4- twice a day you have to message them be careful after a week the skin gets real thin you DON"T want to puncher them. The messaging drives out the sugar and keeps the fruit from going bad.

5- After about four weeks they start to turn black with a white coating on them thats good they are sugaring up for you keep up the message for about one and a half months they should be ready to eat.

These are a tasty treat real sweet goes great with oatmeal
