So my birthday's tomorrow...

<p>I turn 21. Is it weird that I'm not that pumped about my birthday coming? Yeah, I know I'll be turning 21 and I'll be able to drink (which is nice if you can control it). But idk, it's I've always kinda felt lonely when my bday comes around, same with holidays like Christmas and New Years. Is it weird to feel this way or is it all just me getting older?</p>

Thanks for all the birthday wishes everyone!! Just came back from the pub with good company. Thanks to everyone for the birthday wishes and the advice. It's really nice to come here and get support from each and everyone of you. Thanks again and hope to talk to all of you soon! :)

Run, don't walk, to the nearest gay bar and celebrate. I'm sure the patrons will have lots of birthday packages to offer you to help with your celebration.

You can feel lonely on these days if your celebrating it by your self or with a room full of people. If your celebrating it with other people and you feel lonely i would suggest it may be due to fake relationships. One person can replace that whole room if its someone who you're completely real with... I don't think it is weird at all to feel lonely on these days, but probably not desirable, and i don't think it is because you are getting older...

I was at sea for my 18th & 21st but don't think I missed much. It is just another day after all. When you think about it we should be celebrating when the sperm fertilizes the egg because that is much more improbable than your birth!

Happy Birthday, do us all a favor and make it a safe and enjoyable day be with friends have a good time but remember we all want you back the next day safe and sound and above ground and mostly not behind steel bars DON"T drink and drive please.

Happy Birthday and I hope you end up enjoying it. I've felt the same as you for all my life. I put that down to being an only child and not being close to someone ( except my parents who were superb )in my early years. All the VERY BEST. Love and peace my friend. PaulXXX

Your feelings are not unusual. A couple of years ago I decided that as people expect birthdays to be "special" I would try to do something memorable that I would not normally do to celebrate each birthday. For my 21st I overcame my fear of heights by going up a tall building and lying on the glass floor 20 stories above the ground. I will remember my 21st for the rest of my life! My fear of heights still exists but I have a great sense of achievement. Make your 21st a good one. Happy Birthday, Sleuth!

It is not weird at all. Sounds like you don't have a big close family or group of friends to celebrate with. Stantommy1 is right, good friends can make a difference. Hope you decide to do something to celebrate, have a Very Happy Birthday!

21 is kind of a big one, you should at least make an attempt to enjoy it! For me, holidays and birthdays were less important when I moved away from home. But good friends can make the difference, grab a friend and go celebrate!
