The Age of Aquarius

One of my favorite records of my parents', when I was growing up in the 1970s, I used to "borrow it without asking" and play it all the time.

Would you believe I actually saw this band in concert here in town a few years back? I think there was only 1 original member of the band still singing and they appeared with the area symphony as a backgroud band still they were quite good.

Oh I love that song: this is the dawning of the age of aquarius, aquarius! I hoped good things would arise from the new ariya (a 2000 year period of phises had finaly ended), but now I think astrology is rubish.

Here's another 5D album, the one I'm listening to now. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n1KHEfdE_C8 It reminds me of something else I loved about them, the harmonies! It was my favorite part of church when growing up — the choir!

The lyrics of this wonderful song, from the 1967 Broadway musical "Hair," spoke of the dawning of a new age in which harmony and understanding would guide human decisions, but astrologers could not agree as to exactly when this blessed era would begin within a 650 year time frame. We know for damn sure that it hasn't started yet.

Aquarius (â™’) The water carrier represented by the zodiacal constellation Aquarius is Ganymede, a beautiful Phrygian youth. Ganymede was the son of Tros, king of Troy (according to Lucian, he was also son of Dardanus). While tending to his father's flocks on Mount Ida, Ganymede was spotted by Jupiter. The king of gods became enamored of the boy and flew down to the mountain in the form of a large bird, whisking Ganymede away to the heavens. Ever since, the boy has served as cupbearer to the gods. He was one of the very first twinks. The Greek gods were gay of course, so we're in good company as the exalted ones we are! :)

Shoot, none of you older guys were into 5th Dimension? Maybe it's just me, I was big on Carpenters, Captain & Tennille, Janis Ian, Judy Collins, Abba — yeah, I was bullied & called a fag a lot too at 12-14, imagine that. Maybe, in retrospect, it was just the thing, about (girls) singing about GUYS they were in love with, was driving me & I didn't know? (Not to say I'm not macho, I was also in the '70s into Beatles, Wings, Steely Dan, lots of "guys". But, oh yeah, also Queen, Prince, Elton John, etc.... Loved all music, still do, with exceptions.) No one else was into any girl singers growing up?
