Well, as a New Zealander, I have to say that I agree with ibobesso's second comment (esp. the second half). We are having a huge debate here in NZ with the Govt. here bowing down to US pressure to have Kim Dot Com delt with. Our Govt. says it is run by NZ police, but it was all run by the FBI - it's all a bit messy, but smacks of American intervention. Sorry guys, not trying to be anti American, but really, I thought we voted for our own Govt. to run our piss ant little islands, not forgein powers (it's bad enough that China tries to have the upper hand). But anyway, I like Obama, and hope he gets another term. Don't like the other guy's attitude to those less fortunate than him, and personally I think he is the type to walk all over anyone to get to the top of the shit heap. Also agree with Wolfwolf too.

Do you honestly believe in elections??? It's always big corporations who own the show, the less money the pay us the happier they are, and by the time politicians are in power they usually forget about people, it always been like that, it's a shame. They care about gay rights only when is election, but after you voted, they just say to us "DON'T BUG ME" or "DROP DEAD"

ilbobesso, your comment was very thoughtful and full of truth. As Americans we have to realize that the world does not belong to us. And what he do has repercussion all around the globe. An isolationist mentality is outmoded. We are all one big global community. Not only that if it weren't for China financing virtually everything we do, there would be no America as we know. China is the biggest single holder of American debt. So it's a bit hypocritical and naive to think that citizens of other nations have no vested interest in American politics.

Just a thought Nate88 ... the citizens of the US are the only ones who can vote on your Presidency, true, but it's a hard fact that who you vote for affects the whole world. Your international policies involve other countries, their politics and way of life just as much as your own. You said it right that US and "other" troops - including ours from the UK - are dying in Afghanistan daily when the people of that country don't want to adopt an "American" or "European" way of life and mostly just want to be left alone ... so why did we go there? Why did Dubya get US and "other" troops involved in wars in Iraq and Afghanistan? To flush out and kill Saddam Hussein (mission accomplished), Osama Bin Laden (mission accomplished) and the Taliban (because they were seen to be protecting and supporting them - not any more!). No matter where in the world we live we are ALL to some degree affected by the way you and your "fellow Americans" vote next month. How can we not have a valid opinion? And in the free world America fights so aggressively to uphold, is not OUR freedom of speech just as important as your own? If not, what does America stand for? I'm sorry, I don't mean anything personal by this but it's about time that America (as a nation) woke up to the fact that America (as a nation) is nowhere near as popular or well-regarded in the big wide world (as a whole) as America (as a nation) thinks it is. I'm sorry, I really don't mean any offence to anyone at all, honestly, but that's the truth. By the way, I totally accept that much of the above also applies to the world view of us Brits!

NO SLAM intended. This is an issue for the voters of the US.I couldn't care less about opinions of citizens from other countries. I know thissounds harsh but I don't post comments or Blogs about citizens or goverments of other countries. As some US citizens have shared here - it's not over till the votes are counted and the current polls show a virtual tie. We have a lot more things to be concerned over. How about a Blog on nuclear Iran, or why Islam wants to destry Israel or why are US and other troops from many countries fighting and dieing in a war over 11 years for a people who don't want to change but just be left alone???

I'm not voting for someone who summarily dismissed 47% of the country as moochers who don't pay tax. Nor for someone who supports the position that women who are raped should be forced to carry a child that results from that rape. Nor for someone who blatantly caters to the wealthy and the extreme anti-gay religious right/ He claims to have the magic ability to create jobs and yet he's never said how he would do that. But the actual truth of the matter is according to the latest labor statistics, the US has gained back the 4 million jobs we lost after the recession that Bush gave us, plus about another 130,000. Some of you fail to realize just how close the brink of absolute destruction the financial meltdown of 2009 left this country. And no president, of either party, could restore that damage alone in one term as president. The recession was years in the making and it's going to take more than 3 years to fix that damage. On top of that we have a congress led by Republicans whose only goal was to destroy the Obama administration instead of working to with him. They've never offered a single idea that would put people back to work. All they did was to block any kind of legislation the White House proposed and created a gridlock whereby nothing got done. You are deluding yourself if you think Mittens understands the average working man and woman or gives a damn about them. He wants to keep the wealthy as wealthy as they can be at our expense. Plus if you knew your history you'd know that Bush tripled the nations debt and plunged this county with 2 wars and and gave tax cuts to the rich that never paid for themselves. Do you honestly what the party that did all that in charge of his country? I sure don't.
