Trolling is when you say or do something you don't really mean specifically for the fun of upsetting someone. Its a malicious type of fun that takes advantage of people. Since your house mate was kind of teasing you and then has a girl over for loud ostentatious sex while you're there, it sounds like this fits the bill. I've had sex with lots of chicks and we never needed to wake up the neighborhood or break the furniture.

Sometime, when you are alone with this Stuart, and he is running around in his boxers, you might consider saying something to him like, "Do you realize that you can make a straight guy have second thoughts?" or something close. You have NOT said, "I'm gay.". You've just given him an opportunity to respond, and you really didn't out and out hit on him.

ok - so assuming this is for real, let's use "steam room" etiquette. If you're in a steam room and a guy's interest, he'll partly remove his towel or grope himself - which seems like what your roomate is doing. Try sitting down on the couch with him in your boxers and see what the reaction is. Is he stroking himself or getting hard? Then maybe you could give him a peak at your goods or see if he wants to watch tv in your room with the lights out.

BTW - I had a "friend" who was 20 and used to hang out with a bunch of other gay guys and one straight friend. They'd go out drinking and end the evening on the couch "cuddling". My friend said that the straight guy was always the first to suggest the cuddling and got way into it. So maybe take your roomie out for a couple drinks and then watch TV on the couch together and see what happens. Either way - good luck

I will park my cynicism at the door because it probably sounds very familiar because I suspect there are a lot of closeted guys out there with a very similar story, I was one of them and I bet this happens often. I had a friend I wanted in the worst way but was not out and didn’t want to chance ruining the friendship, I finally had to be honest with him and when I was found we were both the same. We were both closeted and both interested. I really do understand where your at Joe, it’s a really tough place to be in, you have someone your attracted to right there in your home and yet at the same time any pursuit comes with great risk. If you move forward and he is offended then you risk his anger and your out of the closet whether you want to be or not. The sad thing here is I really have no idea at all whether this guy is teasing you or not so I have no answer for you. Until the night I told my present BF I was gay I had no idea at all he was too, we did a lot of things together and spent a lot of time with each other and still until that moment I really didn’t know how he would react. I talked with a couple of guys on here and that did help me and I think from what I told them they were not surprised at all when we ended up together so maybe some of the more seasoned members can gage things better for you.
