Here's very simply way:

Go to: www.picresize.com

1) select picture
-> browse (from computer/web)
2) continue
3) crop your picture if needed (if so, click crop selection after crop)
4) resize your picture:
- Make my picture : CUSTOM SIZE - WIDTH 100 pixels, HEIGHT 120 pixels
5) choose special effect if needed
6) save as:
- image format JPG, JPG quality BEST
7) click "I'm done, resize my picture"
- view image
- save to disk

Now your picture is ready for GBT's avatar (size 100X120) :
- Edit Profile
- Profile Picture
- File (you just saved after resize) browse
- Upload it.
