@stroker685 it's funny you mention JFK and not wearing hats. When he arrived in Texas November22nd 1963, he was given a big Texas Stetson but would not put it on even for the media and audience. lol! Sadly shortly after that he was assassinated.

In movies made before 1960, you always see most of the men wearing hats. That was the norm until President Kennedy, who didn't wear hats and is credited with the causing decline in hat wearing. BTW, this photo is was taken in Nashville in 1910.

As a historian, I've always found it interesting that circa 1900, almost all males, even children, wore hats in public. When I was a kid, over 50 years ago, my father kept a hat in a fancy box in his closet. He told me that he bought in New York for $250, after he got out of the navy during the Korean War. The only time I ever wear a hat is during inclement weather, or the occasional baseball cap at a game, and I'm pretty sure that I've never spent more than $10 on any headwear.

Handsome group of young boys.....each one has a story of many trials, tribulations, and hopefully, much happiness too. Each one has lived their lives and passed on.....to whatever and wherever this universe has in store for us. Their faces speak a thousand words...and the history of their lives could fill volumes.

See? Unions bad. When we didn't have child labor laws, it gave them something to do (and yes, I'm being sarcastic).
