I'm 26 year old gay guy and I am super shy when it comes to getting to meet new people.


Attempting to put myself out there a bit more but does anyone else find this super hard or is it just me?

this Aussie is still not completely out and has to hide my true self most of the time
Some good advice below is find a group or activity that you like and have a similar interest in, then just start there in your comfort zone.
little by little you will find yourself experiencing new friends and opening up

The scene can be very intimidating. Being a shy person myself. The fear of rejection can build a wall around you. Maybe what you need is a new look? Like dress like a cowboy or something? i know it sounds kinda silly. It'll give someone a reason to come up and talk to you.

It is hard if you are an introvert. Try finding a gay group that you have an interest in common with. Technology, Books, Theater, Music. The local LGBT center. It gives you an easy starting point for conversation. And it tends to be less sexually charged than bars or clubs. I am very introverted, but have over the years learned to be more outgoing. Still isn't easy, but is better. Once you have established some friend it will get easier.
