Actually, this is a picture of the "Sinking Library" sculpture in Melbourne, Australia. People have wide differences of opinion as to the meaning of the work. Some think it represents the comically huge weight of knowledge under which students must struggle. My interpretation would be more melancholic. I view it as a cornerstone of civilization disappearing into the hell of obsolescence and indifference, but my taste in art tends toward the ironic.
