Jerusalem, the bird's-eye view of the old city of Jerusalem. Jerusalem is located in the Judean Mountains between the Mediterranean Sea and the northern edge of the Dead Sea and it is the capital of Israel.
It is a holy city to the three major religions Judaism, Christianity and Islam. Today, the status of Jerusalem remains on the core issues in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

Jerusalem and it is located on a plateau in the Judean Mountains. Once called "Urusalima", meaning "City of Peace", during the early Canaanite period (approximately 2400 BC). Israel maintains the primary government there. During its long history, Jerusalem has been destroyed at least twice, besieged 23 times, attacked 52 times, and captured and recaptured 44 times. That my history lesson for the day.
