I'm finally realizing that being gay is a younger guy's thing.
As one ages and reaches my age (60's) or close to it, the desire by the cute younger guys to be with a daddy type decreases rapidly.
I'm not complaining, just making an observation here.
I don't blame them. I was the same way when I was their age. Of course, I didn't have the internet when I was younger and it was very difficult, sometimes impossible, to locate someone to meet.
Also, back in the day, being gay was looked upon much differently than it is today. We still have a long road ahead but, the light at the end of the tunnel is getting brighter and doesn't seem to be an oncoming train.
I'm making adjustments to my new 'world' of being less desirable.
I do know a few younger guys that don't run and hide if I want to meet up with them.
I really like the younger generation since they keep me thinking younger and up on things.
I also like to share my life's experiences with them to perhaps make their journey through this thing called 'Life' a bit easier.
I envy you younger guys and all that the future has in store for you. I sincerely hope life is good to you and that you all can be happy in this lifestyle we all share.

The LGBT community opposes discrimination based on sexual preference, colour and religion. Yet why do so many of us older guys feel discriminated about our age. This site is the only place where I feel this.

I certainly agree with you when you say " being gay is a younger guys thing " Being bi, or gay is much easier now for the 18 to 30 range of guys now than it has ever been. I have been in the closet all my life, although I'm sure some friends and family have their suspicion by now. I have never been married and I have had a tremendous amount of girlfriends in my life. Up until my finances and the internet made it possible to start seeing guys late at night. and yes, all younger than myself.
It's true, the older I get, the harder it is to find young guys who will hang out with me for whatever reason. But, now that I have been with guys.. its hard to cross back to the hetero side of things. I like my life, it's what I have made of it and what ever happens in the future... I'll be fine.
Maybe when the 18 year old today turns 40, and I at that time, will be 75, he will still be a twink in my eyes.. and suddenly, somehow, the future does not seem that bad.
Enjoy every minute of your emerging freedom of choice and beauty of your youth lads... for I never knew how gorgeous I was then, until I look around this site now.

I'm in the same position, and have to realise that my dog is likely to be my only true companion from now on. I have always been into guys in there late teens/twenties and so it is virtually impossible (although I have had one recent wonderful night with a 27yo who actually picked me up - so exactly half my age xyz3db). I make myself satisfied with a regular paid for fun session - with the same guy, who makes it seem real - he is actually into it (you can tell) so its no big thing about the age gap (he's 22, I'm 54). So despite what xyz3db says, there are no limits, its up to the individual, you cant put a blanket ban on older people enjoying their feelings, wait until you get to that age - you will realise although your body is older you desires are the same. Although all my close friends are around my age, we are not sexually compatible - its just not a turn on.

Totally agree with you man. Could not say it better myself. But it's even harder when you live in a little country like mine with only about 4.5 million people. I can remember the days when "fag bashing" was a popular night time pastime back in the seventies. Thank god times have changed - slightly.
