Another of the Parthenon. You notice that the roof is missing, but if you imagine the triangular gables at the top supported by the huge columns - these are referred to as the pediments and they depict with sculptures and pictures various aspects of their history - they are missing. Luckily the've been restored in Parthenon Museum next to the structure so people can view it.

Sorry these are out of order a bit. Of course, Athens is famous for the Parthenon, which is the Temple of Athena that sits on top of a mountain called the Acropolis. Its in a rather advanced state of ruin as compared to some of the ancient roman ruins like the Colosseum.

My awesome friend - he's so awesome oh my gosh really he is (hehe) - also told me about these iced coffee drinks that people in Italy drank when he was there and everyone was drinking them in Athens. They're iced espressos and look like this. Its a shitty pic i know because the light was low and i'd had a few of them so i was kinda jittery, lol. He was right thought they were yummie!

If you ever are in Athens eat at this place. It is great and at night the stars are so close you feel like you can touch them. Was there for vacation about a 2 years ago.

I'll start here, at a beach known as Balos, In Northwestern Crete. Its stunning and magnificent. Its north of the city of Kissamos out on a peninsula and it is superlative there, surrounded by mountains and dark dark blue mediterranean seas. The shallow warm waters are brilliantly bright blue with strips of white sand bars throughout to plop an umbrella.

Some dude mentioned he had been to Greece once upon a time and said it was a really cool place. Well, i just got back from there and he was right. I gunna drop a bunch of pics little by little into this thread and share some experiences. We were in Athens first for a while and then a few weeks in Crete, which is the largest of the Aegean Islands and is the southernmost island i believe in Europe.
