Just as a side note, if you use a laptop you can just copy and paste.

When I post a photo using the postimage web link, all I get is a small square with an X in it.

Any clues?

Thanks

I know posting images on GBT is a little bit different from other hosts, but once you get the hang of it, you'll be sharing like a champ!

When I find an image I like that I think I may at some time want to share on someone's GBT wall, I copy the image's URL and paste it into a Word document that I keep just for this purpose.  To copy an image's URL, RIGHT CLICK on the image and LEFT CLICK on COPY IMAGE LOCATION from the pop down menu.  Next, go to your Word document and paste the URL into the document.  You can use the keyboard shortcut CONTROL + V, or using your mouse, RIGHT CLICK and then LEFT CLICK on the first or second icon under PASTE OPTIONS.  The URL of the image should appear in your Word document.  You will have to tap your SPACE bar on your keyboard to activate the URL’s hyperlink at which time the link will turn blue.  As you may have noticed, I like to credit the original poster of the image and the wall on which the image is posted.  The same cut and paste actions will accomplish this and should be saved several spaces after the URL hyperlink.  Several examples follow:

You will notice that the last three examples have a pink highlight on the first letter of the URL.  This denotes URLs that I have already used so I don’t reuse them.  I travel all over the Internet prowling for lovely images, so my collection of URLs grows rapidly and I always have one to share with my new GBT friends.

Now that you have a URL in your Word document, highlight ONLY the URL that you want to use and right click on the highlighted text.  Choose COPY from the drop down menu.  Now all you have to do is go to your own wall or a friend’s wall and LEFT CLICK on the next to last icon (insert/edit image).  A drop down menu will appear.  RIGHT CLICK in the first field labeled SOURCE and choose PASTE.  The image URL will appear in the field.  Play around with the other two fields if you want.  I have not found them to be very useful.  When you are satisfied, LEFT CLICK on the red POST INSTANTLY box below and to the left of the window your image is in.  Your image will now appear on the wall, but it will be highlighted.  Posting videos should involve a similar process, though this is something I have yet to try.

To leave a comment, left click twice in the window, but not on the image.  Scroll down below the image and you should be able to notice your text cursor flashing below the image.  You may have to push ENTER on your keyboard to position the cursor where you want it.  Bear in mind that your comment will end up positioned to the right of the image or at the bottom depending on the size of the image.  Credit for the image can be placed after your comment if you are crediting your images.

I hope this helps.  Let me know if I can be of further assistance.
