I'm having second thoughts about this.
At a recent auction, my dad won a trip in a hot air balloon for 8 people. I was praying he wouldn't ask me. Well, he did and I'm freaking out. It's happening today. Any encouragement?

Don't worry. These people who do this ARE very experienced to handle just about any situation which COULD happen. The only advice I have for you is to sit back and enjoy the scenery from way up high. Encouragement? Don't worry about  what if... once you've had your balloon flight you might just start saying when do we go again
Dont worry, you will have a wonderful experience
Feel the fear and do it anyway. You won't regret it as much as never trying. Personally, I'd give it a go and bungy jumping - would LOVE to jump off a high bridge like that. Yeeee haaaa!!!
By the way, powered ginger root capsules are excellent for calming your stomach. One or two capsules about 30 minutes before you lift-off should be very helpful. They are more effective than Dramamine but do not make you drowsy. Â
My prayers were answered! Or at least put off for another week! Due to the field (see picture above) being muddy, the balloonist couldn't bring the necessary equipment in to get the balloons off. I had a bit of an anxiety attack on the ride to the city, but after encouragement from my 14 year old brothers, I decided to put a game face on and do it! Anyway, the ride is being rescheduled for next weekend. More to come! Thanks for all your support guys.
Hope we hear from you soon that you're okay! I think if I went up in one of those, I'd spent lots of time puking.
Wear a parachute.
Maybe you should wear a Depends, just in case you need 'to go' during the flight.
I'd be nervous as well but should be exciting once you get over the nerves. Just relax and enjoy the experience....have fun my friend!!Â
I LOVE the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta, but I have zero intention of ever getting inside of one of those. I'd say that if the flight is someplace away from power lines, you're safe (so long as the balloon operator is sober). If the flight is near a populated area with power lines, you might want to have the balls to say 'no thank you'. Â
Thomas gave you good advice, be sure to hit the men's room before you lift off. I hope you enjoy a great trip aloft, enjoy the adventure and be sure to take some pics to share!
Well, it's very safe....very few accidents. It's unfortunate about that recent balloon mishap. That's prolly why you're so worried, and yea, the pilot was drunk! ppl I know who have flown in a balloon said it was wonderful, peaceful, and relaxing. I could never do it though, b/c I too have an extreme fear of heights. I almost passed out going up the glass elevator of Seattle's Space Needle...lol. If I didn't fear heights a balloon ride would be on my bucket list. Have fun Thomas! I'll bet you'll LOVE it. :D
I'd be so scared. Â I'm afraid of heights.
Remember to pee and poop before lift off....wouldn't want to soil yourself in front of family....Just Kidding. Would be in the same boat as you...am afraid of heights....good luck
I'll give you a doctor's note.. Exhausted from being up all night having sex haha.Seriously Thomas just take a deep breath and relax..You'll feel proud of yourself when you finish.
