RIP, Arnold Palmer. Considered as "The King of Golf." Besides his numerous victories, he was known for the way he treated people. He would look you directly in the eye, like you were the most important person on the planet.

as a guest on carson.... jonny asked if he had any rituals for good luck before a big round, arnie stalled and said that he had his wife kiss his balls... laughter... arnie demanded they never air the episode and walked off the show. great man... he will be missed.

As a young golfer, my childhood hero, one of the few who really deserve the plaudits they receive.

A very friendly and kind man. I always thought that he was one of the great ones....until he started doing Xarelto commercials.....lol....just kidding. I'm sure he is happy wherevere he is. Bye Arnie.

i was fortunate enough to have met him on 3 occasions. i was hooked on the game since the first one. i was 7yrs old and he and that mean hack nicklous were doing a exhibit at the club. my bud next door and went. arnie was so haansome..perfectly dressed and that smile..omg!! he and jack played a round and they were so different. jack clearly just wanted to bet arnie. arnie just wanted to have fun withall the kids there and sign autografs and be charming.

i noticed how is huge strong hands gripped his club and i asked him to show me how to do that. he looked at me and said "young man..come here and i'll show you and everyone how important this is". my god!! he put the club in front of me and leaned over the top of me wrapping is arms around to my hands placing them as they should be on the club.

the other 2 times i meet him were just as nice. i was an adult by then and had no problem walking up to him and say "hi mr. palmer. glad to see you here" he always smiled stuck the big strong right hand out and said "i wouldn't miss this for the world. good to see you"!!

guys...men are not made like he was anymore. they just are not. if i have to explain why is was so popular.. it is he was golf's version of john wayne.

rip arnie.....long live the king!!!!!!!!!

The King is putting on one of his patented charges, to the Pearly Gates, where Saint Peter will welcome him with the exclamation: 'Fore!' :D
