Hi everyone, my name's Mac. I'm a chef in the school division for a food service management company. So I like to cook - I like to cook simple meals. I would like to share a simple recipe if you love pork chops. Â
Pork Chops in Onion and Beer Gravy ( it's a German dish called Schweinekotelett in Zweibelsosse)
Â
ingredients
4 pork chops or veal chops
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1 1/2 tablespoon unbleached flour
1 1/2 tablespoon vegetable oil
4 small onions, thinly sliced
1/2 cup beer
1/2 cup hot beef broth
1 teaspoon cornstarch
directions
Season pork chops with salt and pepper; coat with flour. Heat oil in a heavy frypan. Add pork chops; fry for 3 minutes on each side. Add onions; cook for another 5 minutes, turning chops once. Pour in beer and beef broth; cover and simmer 15 minutes.Â
Remove pork chops to a preheated platter. Season sauce to taste.Â
Blend cornstarch with a small amount of cold water. Stir into sauce and cook until thick and bubbly. Pour over pork chops.Â
Serve with Brussels sprouts and boiled potatoes.
Well, these turned out really well. I overlooked the mushrooms in the picture you posted & will add those next time. Any more recipes?
I'm going to try this tonight. Someone gave me some smoked pork chops & it's getting to cold here to grill outside. Thanks for the recipe.
Sounds good but I will take mine without the Brussel Sprouts LOL. Â Have you got a good recipe for Welsh Rarebit? Â
